The goal of the project is to support map viewing for all tile-based Rayman games, with focus on the Rayman 1 games. It is the direct sequel to 1997's Klonoa: Door to Phantomile. It was self-published by Namco in Japan and North America, and by Sony Computer Entertainment in Europe for the PlayStation 2 in 2001. Expanding on the gameplay featured in its predecessor, Klonoa 2 ups the ante with its soundtrack too as the NAMCO Sound Team creates unique musical motifs for each of the five Kingdoms played throughout the game.
